Scores of volunteer litter pickers glowed with pride today on finding that their beach cleaning efforts had left Boscombe beach suitable for a promotional photo shoot.

Just hours after local community members fought cold winds to clear the beach of storm debris, the seafront became a set for the shoot.

The stars of the shoot, members of the local Conservative party, posed with shovels and brooms on the warm sunny Saturday morning brushing sand from the prom.

One volunteer litter picker is thought to have said:

“We worked very hard to pick the litter from the beach, it is wonderful that just a day after we put in all that effort our local representatives were able to use the area to pose for the cameras.”

“It is rewarding to see your hard work recognised, I’m glad the beach will look nice for the conservatives cleaning up photo shoot”.
